Wisconsin Lutheran College earns national recognition as a College of Distinction
National college guide highlights innovative learning opportunities at top schools
MILWAUKEE, WI - Wisconsin Lutheran College (WLC) has been recognized for its commitment to engaged, experiential education by Colleges of Distinction, which is celebrating its 20-year anniversary as a one-of-a-kind guide for college-bound students.
Colleges of Distinction has hand-picked a selection of top schools that are well equipped to provide a personalized education catered to students' interests. Schools are accepted on the basis that they adhere to the organization's Four Distinctions: Engaged Students, Great Teaching, Vibrant Community, and Successful Outcomes.
“Each school is different, just as every student is different,” said Wes Creel, founder of Colleges of Distinction. “There is no number-one college for everyone, so we never rank those in our cohort."
WLC was included because of the unique ways it commits to achieving success. Creel said, “It's inspiring to see Wisconsin Lutheran College commit to the learning styles and community involvement that will best allow its students to thrive.”
Already honored as a 2020-2021 College of Distinction for its high-impact approach to education, WLC received special recognition for its business, education, and nursing programs. These additional accolades were borne out of a need for college curricula that are comprehensive not only in course material, but also in practical- and soft-skills development. WLC met these needs with a blend of a liberal arts-based education, program-specific training, and abundant opportunities for real-world application.
For 2020-2021, WLC also was recognized as a Christian College of Distinction.
